As a supplier to medical technology companies and manufacturers of pharmaceutical products, GEMÜ Switzerland produces customised plastic system solutions. For 20 years, GEMÜ has been injection moulding and assembling its own products under cleanroom ISO Class 8 conditions. In 2010, GEMÜ established the medical division to produce plastic parts and devices for third parties as a contract manufacturer.

In 2012, GEMÜ opened a new cleanroom factory with a capacity of approximately 1,800m2, allowing it to provide a wide range of manufacturing possibilities. Beside injection moulding and assembling, processes such as laser welding, ultrasonic welding, printing and tip forming are carried out in the cleanroom. In addition to this high vertical integration of production, GEMÜ also has in-house engineering, project management and tool manufacturing. EN ISO 13485 and 21CFR820 are used to validate the production processes. To complete the service package, GEMÜ can carry out final packaging and labelling if required. The company has partners that can carry out ETO or gamma sterilising. At the end of the process, customers get a sterile finished product. This package of production and documentation skills allows GEMÜ to deliver system solutions into the pharma, medical devices, diagnostic and biotechnology markets.

The cleanroom factory in Emmen, Switzerland, offers production space for injection moulding and assembling parts or entire systems under ISO Class 8 and GMP Class C conditions. Production cells with additional filter fan units and stricter hygiene procedures allow GEMÜ to produce ready-to-sterilise components for the pharmaceutical industry. In terms of labware, GEMÜ can comply with requirements such as being RNase-free and DNasefree, and fulfils important specifications from the biotech industry. To provide smooth logistics all over Europe, GEMÜ has built a production and logistics centre in Kupferzell, Germany.
