Human performance company WHOOP has revealed its latest advancements in wearable technology with the introduction of WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG.
These devices aim to redefine personal health management by offering an innovative approach to health monitoring and longevity. Alongside a revamped user experience, the wearables provide a 14-day battery life and are seven percent smaller than previous models.
New features include Healthspan with WHOOP Age, on-demand ECG through the Heart Screener, and Blood Pressure Insights, among others.
The launch comes as healthcare systems face increasing challenges, offering an alternative that enables users to connect everyday decisions with measurable health outcomes. Unlike other devices that focus on surface-level metrics, WHOOP claims to prioritise longevity by interpreting vital body signals into actionable health guidance.
WHOOP founder and CEO Will Ahmed said: “This isn’t just a product launch. It’s a new chapter for WHOOP and for our members.
“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the past decade and built a platform to help our members perform and live at their peak for longer. We’ve held nothing back.”
The new features in the WHOOP app aim to enhance health and performance. Healthspan with WHOOP Age offers insights on how daily habits affect long-term health, developed with Dr. Eric Verdin from the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
The Heart Screener provides US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared ECG readings from the wrist, detecting signs of Atrial Fibrillation (Afib) and offering Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications. Blood Pressure Insights, a patent-pending technology, provides daily blood pressure data directly from the wrist.
Additionally, Women’s Hormonal Insights deliver personalised information on hormonal changes affecting recovery and performance, catering to various life stages such as menstruation and menopause. The Sleep Performance Update feature offers a reimagined Sleep Score for improved recovery.
WHOOP is also set to introduce Advanced Labs, allowing users to schedule blood tests and receive reports integrated into the app, offering a comprehensive health overview. Fitness tracking capabilities have expanded to include over 145 activities, enabling users to optimise fitness for performance and health.
The WHOOP 5.0 and MG devices also include new hardware features. They are equipped with enhanced sensors that capture data 26 times per second and a redesigned processor for increased power efficiency. Battery life extends to over 14 days, with the addition of a new Wireless PowerPack.
A new line of accessories, including LeatherLuxe crafted from Italian leather, complements the devices. WHOOP MG exclusively offers medical-grade ECG readings, providing peace of mind with home-based testing.
