Samsung Medison, a medical equipment company of Samsung Electronics, has unveiled HERA Z20, a new premium ultrasound system for obstetrics and gynaecology (OB/GYN).

HERA Z20, the latest device on Samsung’s HERA platform, will further advance AI diagnostic assistance functions to improve the health of women and foetuses.

It comes with the ‘Live ViewAssist’ feature, to provide a real-time diagnosis location.

The feature automatically classifies cross-sections and measures results for the entire quarter of OB/GYN, to reduce the time required for measurement and increase accuracy.

HERA Z20 also includes Live Q-scan and A-Focus features that are added to enable a more uniform image and sharper image quality.

The Live Q-scan works to reduce noises during the ultrasound examination in real-time, and A-Focus provides clearer images in every scanning depth.

HERA Z20 also feature Crystal Architecture, Samsung Healthcare’s in-house ultrasound imaging technology that uses an upgraded second-generation engine to enhance image clarity.

Samsung Medison said its new premium ultrasound system enhances user convenience beyond the AI diagnostic assist feature, through the ‘My HERA’ feature.

My HERA enables users to build a personalised ultrasound system by setting the diagnostic setting values for each user type in advance, which can be customised as per user preference.

In addition, the EzStructure and EzFlow features provide convenient, optimal imaging settings on HERA Z20 to examine anatomy easily, with a single touch of a button.

HERA Z20’s primary monitor and touch panel are ergonomically designed for user convenience, with freely adjustable angles.

Samsung plans to showcase HERA Z20 at the ISUOG World Congress 2024, an academic conference in OB&GYN ultrasound, held in Budapest, Hungary, from 15 to 18 September.

At ISUOG, the company is planning to introduce the SUITE website for HERA Z20, to provide medical professionals access to the information of each product feature.

In addition, the company will conduct a live scan of the HERA Z20 onsite to demonstrate its real-time AI diagnostic assist and reporting features.
