US-based remote patient care management solutions provider Prevounce Health has rolled out its first blood oxygen measuring device, Pylo OX1-LTE, for remote patient monitoring (RPM).
Pylo OX1-LTE is a clinically validated, cellular-connected pulse oximeter that offers several advantages over others, for patients in RPM programmes for chronic respiratory conditions.
The conditions include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma, and Covid-19 infections or patients undergoing treatments that require heart rate monitoring.
OX1-LTE can be connected to multiple cellular networks and delivers reliable connectivity and consistent, secure data transmission to patient care teams even in areas with a weak signal.
The new pulse oximeter device is a cost-effective option that makes it easier for organisations to invest in enhancing their RPM programs, said the medical device maker.
Prevounce founder and CEO Daniel Tashnek said: “We’re excited to add OX1-LTE to the family of Pylo devices available for use in RPM programmes.
“After years of utilising third-party oximeters, our team carefully designed the OX1-LTE to check every box we think providers and patients want and deserve out of a connected pulse oximeter.
“This translates to a best-in-class device that reliably provides actionable data to clinicians to empower their care.
“The OX1-LTE couldn’t be simpler for patients to use, which will boost RPM programme engagement and participation while reducing the clinician and technical support work required to scale remote monitoring programmes.”
Pylo OX1-LTE is thoroughly tested and received the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) approval and The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification.
The device delivers blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) readings accurate to within 2% and pulse rates accurate to within two beats per minute (bpm).
With an ergonomic design and a bright, clear OLED screen OX1-LTE is designed with high-quality materials and is ready to use without needing any configuration.
The Pylo OX1-LTE is currently offered for use with the Prevounce remote care management platform, and it easily integrates with third-party health software via the Pylo cloud API.
Furthermore, healthcare organisations can personalise the device to deliver a branded patient experience, said the remote patient care devices maker.
Earlier this year, Prevounce launched Pylo GL1-LTE, its first remote blood glucose monitoring device, which is clinically validated and connects to multiple cellular networks.
