Phillips Medisize, a subsidiary of Molex, has introduced TheraVolt Medical Connectors, marking the first launch of medical connectors under its brand.

The connectors are designed to enhance device integration and performance by managing both signals and high voltage lines. This new offering from the company is intended to address the growing demand in electrophysiology, particularly with the rise of pulsed field ablation (PFA) technology for atrial fibrillation treatment.

TheraVolt Medical Connectors aim to provide solutions that extend device functionality and reliability while supporting higher pin count densities and compact design.

According to Phillips Medisize, the product is engineered to improve cross-platform compatibility, simplify medical device integration, and lower costs by reducing customization time. This development is expected to offer more efficient solutions for medical device companies working on PFA treatments.

Leveraging over 80 years of expertise from Molex and more than 60 years of medical experience from Phillips Medisize, TheraVolt Medical Connectors are built to support next-generation medical devices through high pin count and voltage clearance. This feature enables engineers to design multi-therapy devices with enhanced capabilities and data collection.

The connectors also offer off-the-shelf flexibility with customizable configurations tailored to specific electrical requirements. They are said to maintain performance integrity through multiple autoclave cycles, ensuring durability in harsh sterilisation processes.

Compliance with IEC and IPC standards further promotes dependable operation in medical applications, said Phillips Medisize.

Phillips Medisize medtech segment vice president Pete Soupir said: “With the launch of TheraVolt, the first of several Phillips Medisize–branded connectors, we are excited to bring deeper collaboration and innovation to complement our exceptional contract design and manufacturing services and proven Molex connectivity solutions to our medtech customers.

“TheraVolt Medical Connectors empower our medical device customers to develop next-gen EP devices with enhanced integration, connectivity and performance. Their high pin count and high voltage clearance is particularly valuable in medical devices used in electrophysiology treatments, with multiple therapy options, complex functions and expanded data collection.”

Phillips Medisize plans to release additional medical connectors within the next 18–24 months.
