Medtronic has introduced its Evolut FX+ transcatheter aortic valve system in India to improve the treatment of severe aortic stenosis.

The Evolut FX+ system, which is based on the company’s CoreValve technology, offers improved coronary access in patients who may require future coronary procedures.

It features a redesigned frame with larger windows to minimise frame interference during complex coronary procedures. Also, the system maintains the durable performance of previous Evolut models, providing low gradients, which are crucial for long-term heart health, said Medtronic.

The launch follows approval of the Evolut FX+ system by India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in June 2025.

Medtronic neuroscience and speciality therapies senior director Prateek Tiwari said: “The launch of Evolut FX+ in India marks a meaningful step forward in transcatheter valve therapy.

“With its enhanced coronary access and proven hemodynamic performance, FX+ empowers physicians to deliver confident care—not just during the initial procedure, but throughout the patient’s lifetime.

“By bringing this innovation to India, we are advancing Medtronic’s mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life, while expanding access to future-ready solutions for structural heart disease.”

Medtronic said that the launch of Evolut FX+ advances transcatheter aortic valve therapy in India and strengthens its position in structural heart innovation.

The Evolut FX+ system is said to retain the same tissue structure and valve design as previous models, thereby ensuring reliability.

Its enhanced design facilitates immediate procedural success and long-term care.

Also, the system offers a modern solution that simplifies coronary interventions and broadens patient access to transcatheter aortic valve replacement, said Medtronic.
