South Korean medical technology firm Lunit has secured a second contract from Cloud Solutions, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia-based Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG), to deploy its AI-powered chest X-ray solution.
Under the partnership, Lunit will leverage its AI technology to analyse one million chest X-rays over three years, a significant expansion in the Saudi healthcare sector.
The collaboration builds on the success of Lunit’s 2023 partnership with the medical group, where the AI-powered Lunit INSIGHT MMG was introduced for breast cancer screening.
The expanded partnership focuses on deploying Lunit INSIGHT CXR, a solution designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy for conditions like lung cancer, tuberculosis, and pneumonia.
Lunit INSIGHT CXR leverages advanced AI technology to detect chest abnormalities with high precision, facilitating faster and more accurate diagnoses.
Lunit CEO Brandon Suh said: “We are proud to further strengthen our collaboration with Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group.
“This second contract underscores the value of our AI solutions and reflects our shared commitment to advancing healthcare through innovation.”
The expanded partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which prioritises healthcare innovation and digital transformation, said Lunit.
Suh added: “Expanding our partnership with HMG demonstrates the growing demand for AI-powered diagnostics across the Middle East.
“We are excited to continue supporting Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation while addressing key challenges such as radiologist shortages.”
Last year, Lunit entered a partnership with Mexican medical network Salud Digna to advance AI in medical imaging by integrating its AI-powered imaging technologies.
Under the agreement, Lunit will supply its Lunit INSIGHT CXR and Lunit INSIGHT MMG, across Salud Digna’s network of over 230 clinics in Mexico and Central America.
