LogicMark, a Nasdaq-listed provider of personal emergency response systems (PERS) and health communication devices, has announced the launch of the next-generation Guardian Alert 911 Plus.
The updated device introduces 4G LTE connectivity and integrated fall detection, targeting the growing demand for emergency response solutions within the care economy.
The Guardian Alert 911 Plus is designed to provide direct communication with emergency services without the need for intermediary call centres. The device enables two-way voice communication with first responders at the push of a button.
It also incorporates automatic fall detection technology, which activates an emergency call if a fall or sudden movement is detected, even when the user is unable to manually trigger the alert.
This feature addresses a critical issue, as data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that one in four adults aged 65 and older experiences a fall annually, with many unable to seek immediate help following such incidents.
Unlike traditional medical alert systems that often require monthly subscription fees, the Guardian Alert 911 Plus operates without recurring costs.
LogicMark’s decision to eliminate subscription models aims to improve accessibility for older adults and individuals with medical conditions who may face financial barriers to adopting such technologies. The company said that this approach seeks to address a gap in the market for affordable, standalone emergency response devices.
LogicMark CEO Chia-Lin Simmons said: “Our team is proud to introduce the next-generation Guardian Alert 911 Plus, an expansion of our product family designed to empower individuals in the care economy.
“By integrating advanced fall detection and eliminating recurring monthly subscriptions, we ensure that those who rely on medical alert devices most can maintain their independence and access essential technology, regardless of income.
“This latest product launch reflects our commitment to smart, intuitive solutions that prioritise both safety and affordability.”
The device leverages 4G LTE mobile technology, ensuring connectivity within the range of cellular networks, which enables users to access emergency support both indoors and outdoors. This feature supports greater mobility for individuals who may require assistance beyond their homes.
The Guardian Alert 911 Plus is also equipped with over-the-air update capabilities, allowing for continuous software improvements without the need for physical device upgrades.
Additional technical specifications include a battery life of up to six days on a single charge and water-resistant properties to support use in various environments. The compact design is intended to enhance wearability, making it suitable for continuous use without interfering with daily activities.
