Johnson & Johnson MedTech (J&J MedTech) has launched the KINCISE 2 Surgical Automated System, an automated surgical impactor approved for knee and hip revision procedures.
The next-generation automated surgical impactor is designed to enhance surgical efficiency.
It also provides enhanced control while reducing the physical burden on surgeons during both primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgeries.
The KINCISE 2 System introduces the Acetabular Cup Extraction feature, which supports complex hip revisions by reducing surgeon fatigue and streamlining workflow.
The system’s compact design, multiple grip options, and updated features are engineered for long-lasting performance and comfort.
Johnson & Johnson MedTech orthopaedics group chairman Aldo Denti said: “The KINCISE 2 System exemplifies the needs-based innovation we’re bringing to Orthopaedics this year.
“As more patients undergo joint replacements earlier in life, the demand for revision surgeries is rising.
“The KINCISE System has demonstrated the ability to help surgeons manage those complex cases by reducing operating time and providing procedural control, ultimately supporting better outcomes for patients.”
The KINCISE 2 System aims to address the challenges faced by orthopaedic surgeons by improving surgical efficiency and reducing physical strain.
The system builds on the functionality of the company’s first-generation KINCISE System.
The upgraded KINCISE System features new design elements such as increased reverse energy and push-to-lock adapters that enhance surgical workflow.
With the Acetabular Cup Extraction, KINCISE 2 becomes the first automated impactor approved for removing well-fixed acetabular components in complex hip revisions.
Texas Orthopaedic Hospital doctor Vasilios Mathews said: “When I think about what the KINCISE 2 System means for the future of orthopaedic care, it’s simple: it helps surgeons stay at their best, longer.
“This system is designed to reduce strain and support surgical precision, which means we can focus more fully on the patient in front of us.
“That’s the true value – technology that not only improves surgical experience but helps us deliver better outcomes for every patient we treat.”
Earlier this year, J&J MedTech launched the Dualto Energy System, an advanced surgical solution with multiple energy modalities for open and minimally invasive surgeries.
