iCAD has teamed up with Microsoft to integrate its AI-powered mammography solutions into Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network (PIN), to enhance patient outcomes.

The partnership aims to provide radiologists and healthcare providers with advanced, AI-driven insights to improve breast health detection and clinical workflows.

The collaboration will see iCAD’s ProFound Breast Health Suite become fully cloud-hosted across Microsoft’s extensive network.

By leveraging Microsoft’s advanced radiology reporting platform, iCAD’s PowerScribe solutions will offer automated mammography reporting.

PowerScribe is widely used by radiologists in the US for its AI-based reporting and workflow capabilities.

Precision Imaging Network offers a curated collection of third-party AI models, allowing radiologists and healthcare systems to integrate AI insights directly into existing workflows.

Connecting over 17,000 healthcare facilities nationwide, the network easily integrates iCAD’s ProFound AI technology, serving radiologists and speciality physicians.

Microsoft diagnostic solutions general manager Vikram Chhabra said: “With the integration of iCAD’s ProFound suite of breast health offerings with our Precision Imaging Network and PowerScribe solutions, we will help provide radiologists and patients with more accurate, actionable breast health insights, while streamlining mammography screening workflow, driving clinical and operational value at scale.”

The collaboration follows the recent FDA clearance of iCAD’s ProFound Detection Version 4.0 for Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT).

The fourth-generation AI solution utilises advanced deep learning convolutional neural networks, improving the detection of complex and aggressive cancer subtypes.

It also reduces lesion markings by 18%, minimising potential false positives and streamlining radiologists’ workflows.

By incorporating prior exams into the AI analysis, ProFound Detection Version 4.0 supports more accurate and personalised patient screening assessments.

iCAD CEO and president Dana Brown said: “We are excited to partner with Microsoft to expand access to our AI solutions for breast cancer detection across a broader network of healthcare providers.

“This collaboration supports our growth strategy by expanding the reach of our industry-leading technology, driving deeper market penetration, and advancing our transition to a SaaS model.

“Integrating ProFound AI results in the PowerScribe report aligns with our shared mission to improve cancer detection and care while empowering radiologists to deliver earlier, more accurate interpretations with greater confidence and efficiency.”
