GE HealthCare has introduced the Vivid Pioneer, an AI-powered cardiovascular ultrasound system, designed to improve diagnostic confidence and workflow efficiency. This system, which has received both CE Mark and US FDA 510(k) clearance, offers enhanced imaging capabilities in 2D, 4D, and colour flow.
According to the company, the Vivid Pioneer utilises the cSound Pioneer architecture and advanced probe technology to deliver detailed cardiac imaging. It features improved spatial and contrast resolution, increased colour sensitivity, and 4D imaging capabilities.
The system’s 4Vc-D and new 6Sc-D probes, based on XDclear technology, are intended to help clinicians visualise anatomical structures and assess cardiac function across various patient groups, including both paediatric and adult patients.
GE HealthCare Advanced Visualization Solutions’ CardioVascular and Interventional Solutions CEO Jyoti Gera said: “Vivid Pioneer is built to meet the moment in cardiovascular care where precision, speed, and accuracy are essential.
“With its next-generation imaging engine, AI-powered automation, and intuitive design, the goal of Vivid Pioneer is to empower clinicians to see more, do more, and address patient needs with comfort and confidence.”
Equipped with AI tools, the Vivid Pioneer aims to improve automation and measurement processes, reportedly increasing speed by up to 360%. These tools seek to reduce variability between operators and streamline workflows, providing support for clinicians at different experience levels.
Features include AI Cardiac Auto Doppler for measurements, Easy AFI for strain results and ejection fraction analyses, and 4D Auto LHQ for assessing left heart function.
The Vivid Pioneer features a simplified interface, larger screen, and customisable touch panel to support workflow continuity. Its compact design facilitates navigation in various clinical settings, and the onboard battery allows for uninterrupted workflow during power transitions.
GE HealthCare demonstrated the new offering at the European Society of Cardiology 2025 event in Madrid, Spain, and it is now available in key markets worldwide.
