GE HealthCare has launched Definium Pace Select ET, its advanced floor-mounted digital X-ray system designed to enhance efficiency and accessibility in high-demand settings.

The system is designed to optimise workflow and reduce the learning curve for technologists, addressing the increasing workload in radiology departments.

Definium Pace Select ET system aims to alleviate the challenges faced by radiologists and technologists by automating repetitive tasks and reducing physical strain.

The new system incorporates AI technology to ensure accurate patient positioning and consistent image quality, streamlining the workflow for technologists.

It allows radiologists and technologists to focus more on patient care, enhancing the overall patient experience and increasing throughput.

GE HealthCare X-ray global general manager Sharad Sharma said: “Burdened with the stress and pressure to keep radiology departments running smoothly and profitably, we aim to empower technologists with a system that consistently makes the first image count.

“With its advanced digital capabilities and automation, Definium Pace Select ET allows technologists of all experience levels to deliver consistent high-quality images to serve the full range of anatomies and patient populations.”

Built on the established Definium platform, the Definium Pace Select ET offers advanced automation and workflow features in a flexible, floor-mounted design.

It was developed with extensive customer feedback and includes an elevating table, in-room exam control, and a common user interface to assist technologists effectively.

The system delivers high image quality, comparable to more expensive overhead tube suspension systems, at a more affordable price point.

Definium Pace Select ET features advanced automation to minimise workflow steps and physically demanding movements, potentially reducing work-related injuries.

The AI-enabled Helix Advanced Image Processing ensures high-quality images.

The Intelligent Workflow Suite prevents errors through automated positioning, protocol selection, and quality checks before radiation exposure.

GE HealthCare women’s health and X-ray president and CEO Jyoti Gupta said: “This launch reinforces our commitment to provide accessible, efficient, and high-quality care for patients, while alleviating stress from the technologist’s workday by minimising repetitive tasks and automating steps.

“We remain dedicated to advancing our technology through transformative digital and AI-enabled capabilities that will remove barriers to timely and effective diagnostic imaging for any patient in need of X-ray imaging.”
