Candela, a Massachusetts-based company specialising in aesthetic medical devices, has announced the global release of its Glacē treatment.

This launch took place at the 2025 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting.

Drawing inspiration from the Korean beauty trend known as ‘glass skin’, the treatment is designed to provide advanced purification and hydration for the skin by integrating hydrodermabrasion, dual-mode cupping massage, and LED technology.

Candela, which was acquired in July 2017 by Apax Partners, markets its products in 86 countries.

The Glacē treatment introduces a unique dual-mode cupping massage that facilitates lymphatic drainage and detoxification while also offering a temporarily contoured appearance.

Additionally, the treatment includes a customisable serum system that addresses varying skin concerns such as acne, sensitivity, dryness, uneven tone, and ageing signs. These treatments can be administered independently or in conjunction with energy-based devices (EBDs), enabling aesthetic practices to enhance treatment effectiveness and increase revenue.

The Glacē treatment is now available in markets including the US, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Plans are underway to expand availability across Asia Pacific later this month.

Candela CEO Geoff Crouse said: “With the growing demand for natural and non-invasive treatments, the launch of the Glacē treatment marks an exciting milestone for Candela.

“As our first solution to integrate a broad range of cosmeceuticals for comprehensive skin health, Glacē treatments can be delivered stand alone or in combination with our advanced energy-based technologies using Candela developed protocols. Glacē underscores our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for a wider range of medical aesthetic practices.”

According to Candela, clinical trials demonstrated significant outcomes from the Glacē treatment. Every participant noticed cleaner skin, 97% reported improved hydration, and 92% indicated their intention to return for further sessions.

For practitioners, this solution has streamlined workflow operations, claimed the company.

Candela global clinical operations senior vice president Konika Schallen said: “The Glacē treatment has been a valuable addition to my practice. Its full-body versatility, generous serums, and dual-mode cupping capabilities have streamlined our workflow.

“Patients leave with glowing, rejuvenated skin, and the customisable solution allows us to tailor EBD treatments to a wide range of specific patient needs – across various ages, skin types, and tones, including those with darker skin.”
