SPI Lasers - A world-leading supplier of fibre lasers

SPI Lasers is a global leader in fibre laser technology and manufacture. We offer a wide range of pulsed, CW and kW lasers, supported by our comprehensive after-sales services. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, with offices in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, we position ourselves globally to offer the best service to our customers.

A leading innovator since the early days of active fibre development we are well respected by our customers for our materials and fabrication knowledge, as well as our ability to innovate at the glass level; bringing truly unique fibre lasers to market that simultaneously address the needs of both applications and end product manufacturing.

Our engineers ensure that all the fibre lasers we manufacture are built to our exceptional standards, are focused on customer requirements and are designed to easily integrate into our customers systems and applications. With tens of thousands of units in operation with millions of service hours behind them, we are naturally proud of the products we manufacture and remain committed to ongoing development.

We are focused on delivering innovative, quality and reliable products, as well as offering first-class levels of customer support through the development of highly effective fibre laser solutions for macro and micro machining, welding, cutting and marking applications. Whatever your industry or needs, we are equipped to assess your challenges and help you find a practical solution.

Research and development

Throughout our history we have distinguished ourselves through fibre laser and fibre innovations, technical improvements and developments. This remains an area of continuous improvement for us and is a core aim of our active research and development unit.

In addition we have a strong working relationship with the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), widely regarded as one of the world's leading institutes for photonics research and based just a short distance away from our UK headquarters at the University of Southampton.

Our research and development unit pursues a rigorous development programme that is built into every aspect of our organisation and spans multiple departments and disciplines. This ensures every fibre laser we deliver is built to our highest standards of innovation and quality.

Quality control

To guarantee products that comply with the highest technical and manufacturing parameters, we not only work with the finest suppliers and entrust production to expert engineers and technicians, using the most sophisticated equipment, but we have also instigated a number of comprehensive and stringent test procedures.

Each part of our lasers is subjected to a number of rigorous tests and each stage of production is followed by strict quality control that aims to ensure respect for all the criteria established by the brand. Only such high demands can guarantee the impeccable quality of lasers made by SPI.

Our products

All our lasers use our own proprietary fibres and patented GTWave technology, making our products unique and exclusive to us.

Our product portfolio is the result of our extensive experience of the photonics sector, including long-term relationships with customers. It is based on a strong commitment to fundamental research and development, and rigorous product development, that addresses both customers' business and technology demands.

Regardless of whether you choose one of our range of redENERGY or redPOWER fibre lasers, you will have the flexibility to control power, modulation rate, pulse width and shape, together with application-tailored beam delivery and control features, making our fibre lasers the tool of choice for all your application requirements.

redPOWER R4 fibre lasers tend to be the laser of choice for the medical market, delivering substantial commercial benefits over alternative technologies including improved line speeds, finer machining capabilities and reduced downtime.

The innovative features of the redPOWER R4 include pulse shape equalisation (PSE) and closed loop control, giving class-leading power and stability; as a consequence we are constantly finding new cutting, welding and materials processing applications relevant to all our customer markets.

Specialising in cutting, welding and 3D printing applications, redPOWER R4 Lasers can be integrated directly into production lines or your machines. A range of output fibres are available up to 20m in length with single and multi-mode options to ensure even the largest machines can benefit from redPOWER R4.

Pre-sales support

Our knowledgeable and skilled field sales representatives will be on hand to help at all times throughout your purchasing journey. Even if you are not yet ready to make a purchase they will be happy to help you work through your requirements and suggest the optimal solution to whatever challenge(s) you are facing.

Much of this work is carried out using our in-house application labs based at key locations around the globe. These are run by skilled SPI experts, all of whom have extensive experience in materials engineering and laser applications.

Whatever the challenge, we can work directly with you, from initial investigation all the way through the product lifecycle, in order to deliver the very best output for your requirements.
