The laser welding machine is designed to weld rotation symmetrical connections of plastic tube and other materials. The laser is used for distal and proximal welding of balloon catheters and for tip forming. High productivity and a reproducible process are the advantages of this laser technology.
This balloon forming machine is designed to produce a variety of plastic balloons. The electrical heated stretch blow moulding process allows the production of different balloons for angioplasty and other medical applications. Balloon mould diameter between 1.5 to 40mm and a balloon length from 10 to 300mm and more are possible.
The vertical necking machine is designed to neck down balloon tubes. This process step comes prior to the balloon forming process. The target is to reduce the tube diameter beforehand in order to eliminate the calibration process after balloon forming. The tube is heated partially by a specifically designed air nozzle and the diameter is reduced by axial moving of two linear slides with different speed and travel.
BW-TEC's newest development is the fully automated Balloon Forming Machine 1250, designed to produce a variety of plastic balloons. The electrically heated stretch-blow-moulding process allows the production of a variety of different balloons for angioplasty and other medical applications.
This machine is equipped with a parison-former that pulls the extruded material from a spool and necks down the tube in preparation for the balloon-forming process.
The balloon machine first preheats the tube and feeds it into a split-mould, where the balloon is formed within seconds. The heating and cooling dies hold their temperature and move into position to heat or cool the thin balloon mould.
