The Radiological Society of North America’s subsidiary, RSNA Ventures, has announced a collaboration with US software company Rad AI to advance imaging and radiology technologies.
The alliance will tackle the challenges of the modern radiological landscape by integrating RSNA’s peer-reviewed knowledge into the workflow of radiologists directly via Rad AI’s platform.
It aims to alleviate the increasing pressures faced by radiologists due to rising imaging volumes.
The integration is intended to provide immediate access to critical information during the interpretation process, thus supporting radiologists in managing their growing workload without compromising the quality of patient care.
By automating the surfacing of case-based insights, the partnership aims to bridge a gap in contemporary imaging practices, ensuring radiologists can access the necessary knowledge without the need to recall from memory or conduct manual searches.
RSNA board member and information technology liaison Adam Flanders said: “This partnership aims to solve a critical challenge for radiologists – leveraging AI to optimise workflows to improve patient care.
“Through this alliance, RSNA Ventures will deliver RSNA’s peer-reviewed content into Rad AI’s solutions already in use across leading US radiology practices and health systems, ensuring that this innovation is trusted and practical.”
Rad AI said that a key development from the collaboration will be presented at the RSNA 2025 annual meeting, where a product demonstration will illustrate the real-time assistance RSNA content can offer to radiologists.
Rad AI chief product officer and co-founder Jeff Chang said: “This partnership with RSNA Ventures gives radiologists an unprecedented advantage, bringing case-based insights directly into their workflow in real time, allowing them to stay focused on image interpretation.
“By connecting trusted RSNA knowledge with daily practice, radiologists can deliver rapid, data-backed recommendations to providers and answers to patients faster, with greater confidence and with assurance that decisions are grounded in the best available peer-reviewed knowledge.”
The announcement comes after Rad AI secured $60m in a Series C funding round in January 2025.
