The first edition of AIMD Day, a pioneering event dedicated to active implant technologies, took place on Tuesday 24 June and ended on a high note. Organised by Cisteo MEDICAL, the event brought together all the European players in the active implantable medical device (AIMD) sector to present and discover the innovations that will revolutionise tomorrow’s medicine.
A technological ecosystem on the move
During this intense but no less convivial day, participants were able to explore a wide range of cutting-edge technological solutions: miniaturisation, hermeticity, innovative electrodes, implant cybersecurity, communicating sensors, and the latest advances in energy and embedded electronics.
“We created this event to bring together a community and highlight all the technologies that will make tomorrow’s AIMDs”, explains Christophe Moureaux, Chairman and Founder of Cisteo Medical, a Baux-Bois company specialising in the manufacture of active implants, among other things, and the initiator of the event. “The success of this first event, and above all the satisfaction of the participants, has exceeded our expectations, confirming the real need in the sector and placing our region at the heart of European medical innovation”.
Productive exchanges on a European level

The event, structured around cutting-edge technology conferences and an exhibitors’ village, enabled direct exchanges between technology suppliers, medical device manufacturers and sector experts from all over Europe. The presence of companies from Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands and Sweden testifies to the immediate impact of this.
Feedback from participants was unanimous: the professionals present saluted the quality of the presentations, and the relevance of the solutions presented to meet the day-to-day technical challenges of the AIMD industry. The good organisation of the event was also highlighted by the professionals present. “We’re delighted to see an event where technology is at the forefront,” said one. The enthusiasm is such that all are already clamouring for a second edition, confirming that Cisteo MEDICAL has hit the nail on the head with this new European event.
A promising dynamic for AIMD industry

This first edition confirms the dynamism of the French and European ecosystem in the field of advanced medical technologies. Besançon, for example, which is already renowned for its expertise in microtechnology and precision watchmaking, is now confirming its strategic position in the high-tech medical devices sector.
The organisers have already announced plans for a second event, building on the success of the first, which laid the foundations for a community that is now united around innovation in active implants.
