Founded in 2000, Modulight is an ISO 13485:2003-certified manufacturer for laser and LED-based medical devices. Since then, the company has designed and delivered over a million laser units globally. Modulight's strongest-growing product segment is OEM manufacturing of various types of medical laser systems for applications like photodynamic therapy, low-level laser therapy, illumination, surgery, hair removal and stimulation, fluorescence and dentistry.
The design and manufacturing of the medical lasers - from the semiconductor laser material to complete systems - internally at Modulight ensures the lowest cost and unique product control and lifecycle support. These in turn enable repeatable treatment results in the pre-clinical and clinical trial phase, and treatment efficacy in commercialised treatment process.
Modulight has existing CE-approved product platform for single or multiple output channel medical laser systems. This, combined with flexible wavelength selection possibility, allows cost-efficient product launches and short time to market. Pre-qualified platforms also offer direct savings in new product approvals through existing design history and CB testing documentation.
ML7710-PDT is a turnkey laser system for photodynamic therapy, equipped with all the required functionalities for safety and usability. Standard features include: touch-screen user interface, multiple individually addressable fibre output channels, aiming beam, smart internal calibration module, foot/hand switch, fibre sensors and safety interlocks. The ML7710 laser system is a multi-wavelength design and offers up to eight output channels.
Optional services include customised treatment flow, individual industrial design, annual calibration and field service, and extended warranty.
The design and manufacturing processes are done according to ISO 13485:2003 and the design complies with IEC 60601 and FDA CDRH 21CFR1040.10 requirements and regulations. The laser system wavelength options include: 630 nm; 635 nm; 652 nm; 660-690 nm; 753 nm and optical output powers of 1-10 W ex-fibre.
ML6700-PDT is an OEM laser system platform tailored for photodynamic therapy (PDT) application and supports all common photosensitiser wavelengths. The system is designed for easy laboratory use or integration into an existing system platform.
Standard products come with fibre pigtail with SMA-905 connector, integrated driver and cooling controller. The systems can be controlled through a USB port with a PC user interface (to be ordered separately) or by an analogue/digital control signal directly.
Modulight's illumination kit is a scalable platform for parallel illumination of photosensitive samples in R&D and drug screening.
Combined with Modulight PDT laser family, this kit is the most versatile R&D kit in the market, supporting all major PDT wavelengths and required power levels for even simultaneous multi-wavelength operation. The kit interfaces with Modulight ML6500, Modulight ML6600 and ML6700 PDT laser modules via PC and has support for dose calculation based on illuminated sample area (discrete or custom sizes). Separate sample stations are available for rectangular 85x125 mm multi-sample microplates and up to 95mm diameter round petri dishes.
Modulight's OEM laser systems are a perfect solution for integrating a laser into customer's system platform or application. ML6600 is a multi-channel laser module with a simple standard interface that ensures low integration cost and easy use. The ML6600 module can be ordered with three different wavelengths, conveniently within the same package, with combined fibre or individual fibres output.
Alternatively, ML6600 can be used for power scaling, bringing 3-30W output power from a single fibre at one wavelength; the wavelengths supported range from 405nm to 1650nm.
The ML6600 laser system has pigtailed or receptacle laser output with 100-200µm fibre. The control, cooling and driver are integrated, and the control supports both analogue and digital modes. The most common applications served by ML6600 include therapy, diagnostics, fluorescence, dentistry, scanning and illumination.
Modulight design and manufacturing offer lower total cost of ownership (TCO), unique product control and lifecycle support. These in turn enable repeatable treatment results in pre-clinical and clinical trial phase, and treatment efficacy in commercialised treatment processes. Modulight's partnership approach and broad in-house laser design and manufacturing expertise shorten time-to-market and lower the risk. Over the 14 years of operation Modulight has helped hundreds of companies to launch new products to market and streamline existing products for lower TCO.
